For this new mild-hybrid version of the Mercedes C-Class, the Germans have opted for the 258 hp four-cylinder petrol engine. The EQ Boost technology is based on a 48-volt electrical network and a belt-driven starter alternator that supports the combustion engine during acceleration. Under these conditions, it is capable of delivering an extra 10 kW (14 hp) and 160 Nm. Its approved average fuel consumption is between 6 and 6.6 litres per 100 km/h.
