The engine is the same as used by its predecessor, although Mercedes-Benz has made some changes in the distribution system and combustion processes that result in a maximum power 21 HP higher (now has 381 horses). It has 2.0 liters of displacement and is supercharged by a double-entry turbocharger capable of generating a maximum overpressure of 1.8 bar.
