Vehicle Detail

There is a convertible version of the Gallardo, called Spyder, with a folding canvas roof.  The roof is made of black fabric and has an electro-hydraulic mechanism that takes 20 seconds to complete the opening or closing manoeuvre; operated by two buttons on the centre console.

When the roof is folded it is stored in the same compartment as the engine. Four hydraulic cylinders are responsible for moving the roof and two others the bonnet, which is made of carbon fibre to reduce its weight.
