The engine has three compressors, two coupled to turbines driven by the exhaust gases and a third, driven by a 48 V electric motor. This is part of an additional electric circuit to that of the standard 12 V. The 48 V network is also used to drive electric motors that vary the torsional resistance of the stabilizer bars.
