Like all Smart cars, the engine is located under the boot. This is the most powerful engine available in the first generation of the Fortwo. Signed by Mercedes and Smart tuner Brabus, it has a three-cylinder block of just 599 cc made entirely of aluminium alloy.

The dashboard and seats have a water-resistant cover; the steering wheel and gear lever are leather-wrapped. There are two front airbags and seat belts with tension limiters.
